Privacy Policy
Swatchly is built to work on your device. This policy explains what it does and doesn't do with data.
What Swatchly stores
Your palettes (colour values, font names and sizes, palette names), settings and, if you buy Pro, your licence key and a random device label are stored in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on your device. We cannot see it.
What Swatchly reads from web pages
When you press Scan, Inspect, Apply or the eyedropper, Swatchly reads style information (colours and font settings) from the page you are on and, for Apply, changes how an element looks in your open tab. This happens locally in your browser. Page content is not collected, stored, or sent anywhere.
What we do not do
- No accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
- No collection of your browsing history, page content or personal information.
- No selling or sharing of data. We don't have your data to sell.
- No remote code: all code runs from the extension package.
Licence activation (Pro only)
If you enter a Pro licence key, Swatchly sends the key and a random device label to our licence service, which checks it with our payment provider, Creem, and replies whether it is valid. Swatchly re-checks occasionally, and if the service can't be reached your Pro status is kept. This is the only network request the extension makes. Free users make no requests.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Creem, who act as merchant of record. Your payment details are handled by Creem under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details.
Copy for AI
This feature only copies text to your clipboard. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to paste it into a service such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot, which then applies its own policies.
Permissions
The extension requests access to sites you visit so it can read styles and apply colours when you ask it to; storage to save your palettes; side panel to show its interface; scripting to run those actions in the current tab; and clipboard write to copy colour values and the AI prompt.
Your choices
Export your palettes at any time as JSON. Removing the extension deletes its locally stored data.
